Stoat Xmas Exchange 2016 by FoamWoods Stoat Xmas Exchange 2016 by FoamWoods
A bit late to be sure but this was my half of the Christmas Exchange ran by Eviecats. My partner this year was the talented Avanii who made me a gorgeous dragon as her half.
Quality control (made two dolls) as well as some postal shenanigans and tomfoolery ended up having this little cutie only just arrive at his forever home. I was sure to include copious amounts of apology chocolates as is custom.

This little stout is made with fake fur and polar fleece accents and scarf. As with nearly all my dolls he has a poseable skeleton.

It was a bit of a long and bumpy road with this doll but I got through it. This was my first time making anything even resembling a mustelid and also my first time using fur. There were a lot of firsts for sure and due to that my learning curve was a bit.. harsh.
This is actually the second doll and one of the reasons he was so late. The first was a bit of a disaster honestly. I used the wrong fur, body shape was more stubby cat then stout, my idea to needlefelt the face and feet did not work out at all, and over all I was very very unhappy with it. After finally scraping it however I was able to fix all my mistakes and make something I was proud of.

I wish I could say yes but I just don't have time. I have too many projects going as it is and having a day job really limits the time I can put into art.
